DOOR 19

This project used the ability of motion graphic to overlay information, graphics and animation over a head-mounted display: EPSON Moverio BT-100 AR glasses. In this installation, a participant is led repeatedly through the same doorway. Each time they moved into the space the video overlay revealed an entirely different world. I dressed up as a mysterious phantom tour guide to explain the each world to the participant as part of whole interactive process.

Personally, as a big fan of infinite universe and parallel space, I always want to use virtual reality technology to design a series of alluring and wondrous landscapes, to blend together with the reality and time. In this installation, the participant would be able to see his or her past traces. The past traces will layer on top of the current, further generating patterns automatically.

To seeing one’s life as a whole, seeing how different choice let to different paths, and generating an atlas of life and fate. What will our future reality hold and create for us, as our lives become exceedingly like that of an infinite loop.
